Some recent exchange of visits by General Pervez Musharraf, and more recently by President Zardari and Prime MInister Gilani, Moscow too seems keen to respond with warmth and eager to help Pakistan some of its complex problems. A good augury indeed. World over foreign policies of any country, is designed to serve that country’s national interest.

The government of national reconciliation has shown the way for establishing democracy and a culture of tolerance. Notwithstanding the challenging circumstances, President Zardari was entrusted by history to lead the nation following Benazir Bhutto's elimination by the anti-democratic forces, only a man of his calibre could translate the great leader's vision in politics.

This would probably be remembered as one of the most challenging search and rescue operations in the military history. It is also the first serious move to get the ball rolling on these two proposed provinces that goes beyond point-scoring politics. It is for real and will see the move gathering a lot of political support from within the region and in other provinces.

This sounds good indeed and makes us believe that henceforth the democratic dispensations will no more be derailed by overambitious non-political and non-democratic forces. From now onwards, the people of Pakistan will be deciding their fate themselves i.e. through their elected representatives, as they have been doing during the last four-and-a-half years (approximately).
